President’s Message

To date 2008 has been a very successful year in records to monies collected for the Mahi Transportation Fund benefiting the children receiving care at the twenty two Shrine Hospitals.

To date the Marathon Shrine Keyettes have contributed $10,000.00, along with the Martathon Shrine Club raising an additional $15,000.00, for a total of $25,000.00.

The Month of March begins with the start of the Shrine Club Plaque Drive , followed by hosting the Marathon Little League cooking hot dogs and hamburgers at no cost on Saturday, March 8th On Sunday, March 9th, the Shrine Club will provide breakfast and lunch at Key Colony Day, from 7:00 a.m. until 4:00 pm.  The Marathon Keyettes will hold their annual Fashion Show on Wednesday, March 19th at Marble Hall, Key Colony Beach .  We will end the month with our annual Noble Bill Jones Fish Fry to be held at the Marathon Moose Lodge on Thursday, March 27th On Sunday, March 30th will hold the first Shrine Pig Roast, held at Ill. Sir. George Mitch’s yard at 1470 Overseas Highway , the event will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., providing pig, ham, rice and black beans, and music by Michael J.

Beginning in April, on Sunday, April 6th, we will travel to Miami on the Shrine Bus to tailgate and enjoy a professional baseball game between the Florida Marlins and the Pittsburgh Pirates.  And the final event of the spring will be our Bon Voyage Party before all our snowbird Nobles leave at the Marathon Elks Club on Wednesday, April 9th.

It has truly been a busy first part of the year, and our success could not have been accomplished without the tireless help of all of our members, and the great support of the Keyettes

Should you like to join us in any of the upcoming events, or require more information, please free to contact either myself, or any of the Officers or Directors.

Respectfully,  David Ruthenberg
