The 323 Masonic Family Scholar Awards

What is it? This award program’s purpose is to help alleviate in at least a small way the financial burden of 323’s Master Masons and their immediate family for the costs associated with getting a higher education. We, the scholarship committee and brethren of 323 would like to encourage any Master Mason of 323 and their immediate family members who are currently in college or trade school OR has student loan debt, to apply for one of three $1,000 awards.

‎Who qualifies? The 323 Masonic Family Scholar Awards are expressly only for Lodge 323 Master Masons in good standing, their spouse/widow, and their immediate biological and adopted children/orphans who are currently enrolled in college/trade school OR have federal student loan debt.

When are the awards chosen? The first award(s) shall be in August 2025 and then announced at the following stated meeting; and then one award every four months thereafter.

How are awardees chosen from the pool of applicants? This committee shall give award priority to active students over student loans, then to new over repeat awardees, and then chosen by the Master Mason’s seniority (consecutive time in good standing at 323); then their spouse, then their children, then their orphan(s), and then their widow.

Is proof required? Awardee has the burden of evidence of the 323 Master Mason relationship AND of current higher education (college, university, or trade school) enrollment/government funded student loan debt documentation in order for this award's funds to be released.

Under the jurisdiction of The Grand Lodge of Free & Accepted Masons of California.
